How you can get involved

The Way Forward

As The Deepings Green Walk develops, we will be consulting on a number of new initiatives to bring our community together and to enable residents and visitors to  enjoy our local environment.

Please email us a photo of your favourite place in The Deepings and tell us about the location.  We will update our website regularly with your photos and comments.

Do you have the interest, time, contacts, inclination, knowledge or skills to help us with this project?

You can also get involved in a number of ways:
  • Writing us a message of support to let us know which aspect of The Deepings Green Walk project is of most interest to you
  • Offering to work with us to develop any of the new proposed initiatives, or suggesting some of your own
  • Highlighting specific locations that could be challenging in the development of the Green Walk and will need early consideration
  • Responding to new Planning Applications by assessing their contribution to The Deepings Green Walk
  • Helping us to improve this website if you have the relevant IT knowledge and skills
  • Setting up and managing a facebook page to support communication about The Deepings Green Walk
  • Joining in the various Community Engagement activities i.e. contributing to the 'Character Assessment' walks in November
  • Volunteering to join and contribute to one of the Neighbourhood Planning Topic groups
  • Nominating a specific site for Benchmarking
  • Sponsoring an item of public seating
  • Creating and donating an item of public art
  • Other
As an example of existing paths that need improving, this passageway is part of a public footpath within the local Conservation Area. It leads through to a small park between Church Street and The Woodlands.  We are currently working with SKDC to improve the appearance and to ensure it is a pleasant and accessible route for everyone.
